Monday Madness

Beautiful day today, weatherwise. It's 47*, windy (I know this because I can hear the windchimes on the front porch), and sunny. Nice day. The girls all went outside to play without coats on. I know, I know, I should have insisted on light jackets....

I'm baking a cake, and it smells so good in here. It's a rainbow, sprinkle cake...Betty Crocker. Dennis let Brianna and Cheyenne pick it out. Ally went to the movies with a friend from school, and Brianna and Cheyenne were feeling jealous. It's the first time only one girl has been invited somewhere, and it was hard on the other two.

Sunday School and church were great yesterday! I love our church. The Sunday School class is wonderful. I feel like I'm back in Bible school. Cindy is so anointed to teach God's Word. Did you ever read the book of Hosea? I know I never have. So I was really interested in the lesson yesterday. Hosea was so open to God. When God told Hosea to go marry a promiscuous woman, and have children with her, Hosea did just that. Just trusting God. And he loved the woman, and when the woman didn't change her ways, and she had children with other men, Hosea just accepted those children as his own. There is a good lesson there. Read Hosea for yourself. Church service was about Joseph. Did you know that when Isreal asked for his son to go look for the missing 10 brothers, Joseph said "Here I am, send me". He left his father's house, and never, ever returned there again. I didn't realize that before. When we tell God "here I am, send me", we don't know where we will go, what we will do, or who we will meet. We just trust Him, and go. We ended up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, going to Bible School, and thinking we would be sent to Africa any minute. But, nope. God left us here in Tulsa to do His work here, never to live in our home state of Ohio, again. And the bonus to that is, we love Oklahoma! The people here are so friendly, and the state is beautiful. I am still saying to the Lord "here am I, send me". (or let me stay here, either one is ok)

In keeping with the madness of this Monday, we will be having grilled cheese sandwiches for our dinner tonight. Just plain ole grilled cheese. Nothing fancy, but it makes the girls happy. And even on a strick low carb diet I can have 2 sandwiches....made with my special diet bread. The girls were out of school today for MLK day, and we were trying to think of something to make the day special for the girls.

I have to say thank you to my daughter, Dana, for changing my background for me! It's beautiful, and I love it.

Dianne - I am so glad you had a good time at church. I LOVE the book of Hosea. I often think of Gomer and how she could have treated Hosea so badly when he loved her so much. Guess that's a lesson for us and God's love to us! Enjoy that cake!
