It's just too hot today for the girls to go out. They have been pretty bored. We've had bickering, crying, whining and when none of this worked, I had them go into the kitchen and learn something new. It knocked "the wind out of their sails"! All three loved the learning session, and they all ate the fruit of their labors.
I think the girls will be very happy to return to school next Friday. They want to see their school friends they haven't seen over the summer. I think they are bored with neighborhood kids! (no offense intended!!) I'm ready for the house to be quiet! I will miss them though. And Casie will grieve for them. He sits at the front door and waits patiently for them to come inside. When they don't show up when he thinks they should, he barks. That barking can go on for quite a while!
Talked to my dad this morning. He sent me some Cd's of songs and music that he loves. We enjoy the same type of music, and he wanted me to have these. I now have 8 Cd's that he has sent me. I love them!!! (and that's mild) Daddy sounded so tired this morning. He will be 86 Sept 1st. Wish I could be with him and help blow out the candles on his birthday cake.

Looks like your girls had fun making the grilled cheese sandwiches.Jeremy ate grilled cheese when he was younger but won't eat them now.He loves toast, butter and cheese so go figure.
I know you will treasure those Cds that your dad sent to you.
Sure love that swallowtail butterfly that showed up in your garden. So pretty! I have had so many show up this year, I'm in heaven!
This is so good that you are teaching the girls to cook.
It will be with them forever.
