It's my turn....

It's the end of the June birthdays! I've had enough cake for an army. And I'm not supposed to have any cake because I'm a diabetic. How to explain to my doctor that we have all these June birthdays, and the girls think birthday cake is magical and it can't hurt me? Who told them that anyway? Oh wait....I think I did. Hmmmm. Now why would I tell them that? Because I think birthday cake and wedding cake is magical. I really do. Oh and my cake was wonderful. I tried so hard to leave it alone. I only had two pieces of it. Honestly. That's all. It tasted like a Mars Mounds candy bar. Oh. What did you say? You say you see two cakes there? Ok. I had two cakes. One was a carrot cake. Yummy. With cream cheese frosting. I had two pieces of that one, too. No. Not on the same day. Silly you! (but close...)

I'm old enough to know that birthdays are a counting of our years on this Earth. But I'm forever thankful to God that I've had all these years. 62 of them, I'm proud to say. Don't ever be ashamed or embarrassed at your age. Be thankful. Especially if you have kids and/or grandkids. I want every minute of time I can get with these kids! I wouldn't mind living to be 100 because of my kids and grandkids. As long as I wasn't a burden on them, of course. When I'm 90 I want to walk on the beach holding hands with Dennis and laughing at some funny thing he has said to me. He is always saying funny things and making me laugh. When I'm 95 I want to sing silly songs with Ally, Brianna, and Cheyenne. By then every song I sing will be silly. When I'm 100 I want a big group picture of my family around a table with us all eating birthday cake. I expect that by then my family will be a tad bit larger in size than today's family. But we will all laugh, hug each other, and sing. And eat that magical birthday cake together.
