D-Day Saturday June 6th

My dad served in the Army during World War 2. He landed with the troops on Utah Beach on D Day 1944. Of course, back then it wasn't called D Day. Nor was the beach named Utah Beach. Dad says none of the beaches had names back then. It was just a big long stretch of beach being held by the Germans. It was hard for a 19 year old young man to get off that landing craft and wade through the cold water while the dead and dying were all around him; in the water and on the beach. Those are his memories today. I often call him to ask him questions on days like Veteran's Day, or Memorial Day, or today. He says he doesn't usually watch the programs commentorating these occassions. You know when a person has a "front row seat", they don't need to watch it on t.v.
I love you, Dad. And I am super proud of you.

Please tell your dad that I am proud of him too! We owe an enormous debt to these valiant men that fought that battle with courage and dignity. Their courage and dedication to liberty should be an example to all of us. They are all truly heroes to us all!

Hugs,
Susan
