I'm getting tired of gray days! Our afternoon weather was sunny, but windy and cooler. But this is our spring in Oklahoma. I get so frustrated with myself when I think I can do something, then I can't do it. Walking is still difficult for me. I sat out on the swing this afternoon, and wanted to go in the house because it was getting cool out there, but there wasn't anyone to help me get off the swing, and then to walk into the house. *sigh* Ally had a virus, and ran a fever of 102. The school nurse called to say we needed to go get Ally at school, and bring her home. She was pretty sick, and laid around the living room, and whined and moaned. I call and made an appointment with the doctor. Wish Ally could have been seen then, but they were full, so I made the appointment for the next morning. You know what happened! Yep I took her in, and oila' Ally was well!! No fever, no whining, nothing. So the doctor said the dreaded words JUST A VIRUS!! Of course, we were so thankful that nothing was wrong (strep; ear infection; etc) but come on....it's embarrassing to get to the doctor, and all symptoms are GONE!! Our girls have made a new friend. Her name is Jennifer, and she is 12 years old. She lives at the end of our street, and our girls adore her. She is a very sweet girl, and she calls me Grandma. Well today Jennifer was here playing with the girls, and a woman came walking up the sidewalk walking her two small dogs. Jennifer took off to hug the woman, and our three girls asked me if they could go see the dogs. I told them to ask permission before touching the woman's dogs. I watched the drama unfold from my swing. The four girls were patting and rubbing the dogs. And all seemed to be fine. Then I watched as Jennifer got down on her knees and began shaking her head back and forth putting hair in the face of one small dog. Everything after that happened really fast, but I heard a squeal, then a cry, and saw Jennifer fall over crying. Our girls were all screaming, and I told Dennis to go see if all was well. I knew in my heart that Jennifer was hurt. Jennifer was bleeding , and crying. Dennis decided to walk Jennifer to her house, and I had Brianna take Jennifer's bike home. I was later told that Jennifer's shaking her hair in the face of the dog upset the dog (well, duh!) causing the dog to jump into Jennifer's face, which knocked her over face first onto the sidewalk, causing the bleeding. It ended up that the woman is a neighbor from the street behind us. I didn't remember her. :( She came back by here and we talked, and then I remembered her. (but her name never came to me, and still hasn't) Ok. That's enough for now. |

Dianne - how horrible for little Jennifer! I know that everyone was upset for no one wants a child to be hurt. Susan in SC
PS - Glad Ally was OK after 1 day - kids just bounce back quickly!
Glad Jennifer is OK and only hurt from the fall and not by the dog.
Glad to hear that Ally is better.
