Thankful Thursday

It's Thursday again, and I have thought a lot this week about what I am thankful for. With the passing of my dad last Thursday I've thought a lot about family. I am so thankful to have been raised in the family I was in. Maybe I wore rose colored glasses my whole childhood, but I think we were happy together. I don't remember much sibling rivalry or fighting. But then, my mom would not allow fighting! She said she was raised in a family where there was a lot of arguing, and she wouldn't allow that in her own family. Must have worked, because I don't remember much arguing. (maybe my brothers remember it differently!) Now that we are all grown, we still don't do much arguing. Our problem is we get upset and just don't talk.....but we don't argue! ;)

I am thankful for the family that God has blessed me with now. Dennis is the right husband for me. He doesn't always understand me, but that's ok. He is patient with me. And this past week I've needed a lot of patience. I'm thankful for our four kids, and our nine grand kids. I love family. I love having them around me. I love listening to their chatter, and their laughter. I love that they have all made a decision to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm proud of that!

Choose a day to make your own thankful day. Remember all the blessings that God bestowed on you, and give Him thanks.

Oh give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good; and His mercy endures forever"

Family is such a blessing. So sorry to hear about your Father passing away. I didn't know your MIL was from Michigan. Holland is so charming!
