Frazzled!

Isn't Autumn beautiful!? The trees in our area aren't changing into beautiful colors like the trees in my pictures, so I borrowed from a couple of other states! The leaves are falling, and the air is changing even though we still have afternoon highs in the 80's, you can tell there is something different. Our nights are in the 40's now, and that's really nice. I love the colors of the sunrise after the night has been cold. The colors are sharper, and deeper.

Yesterday was spent running all over the place trying to get me a state I.D. card. Since my neurologist has said I can't drive anymore, I just allowed my driver's license to expire....like for two years. So, now we find a car we like and for a whole month we've been driving it. No one ever sends us anything about making car payments. Then we get a phone call from the car place to come over and sign some papers. It isn't close by our house, so we had to choose our day and time carefully to go sign those papers. We sign papers, the loan manager tears up the other papers, puts a new tag on the car, and sends us off telling us that the bank should be calling us in a day or two. No phone call. Then Wednesday we did get a call, but it was from the loan manager. He tells me that everything we submitted to the bank has been oked by the bank, except my expired driver's license. He asks me if I have a pass port, I say no. He says you are going to have to get a state ID card before the bank will ok our loan. All this stuff is like two months of driving our new car without car payments. So yesterday we go to the tag agency near our house. The place was almost empty when I walked in there. Yay, this won't take long at all.
But I'm told I'm at the wrong place, the nice lady gives me the address (across town)
I have to go to. We go to the new building across town. It's big. It's also very crowded. V*e*r*y crowded. Take a number and take a seat. The sign says "Quiet. No talking. No radios. No cell phones. No pagers. If you leave the building, and miss your number, then you take a new number". Wow! My number is 143. The lady next to me is 133. It's fall break, and every 16 year old in Broken Arrow is in this place to get a driver's license. The lady next to me starts up a conversation and we sit and talk (quietly of course because the sign says no talking) We are still talking an hour and a half later, and the number is only up to 100. I walk up to a lady behind the counter and ask what paperwork I might need to get a state ID. She says I will need my birth certificate. I don't have that with me. So Dennis says we'll go home and get it. We have time. As slow as this is moving, I have time to come to your house for a cup of coffee and conversation! I look in the file, see I don't have a certificate, I have a registration paper, and a hospital paper. So I grab those two, and we go back to the place. The number is now on 133. Progress made. When it's finally my turn, it really goes fast. The woman doesn't even ask to see my papers! She does however hand me a phone number to call the state of Georgia to request a birth certificate because she says the way things are going in America everyone will be required to prove they are legal citizens of the United States.
Then I'm sent back to the original place to get the ID card! Thankfully that place still has three clerks behind the counter, because there is now about 6 people waiting. Doesn't take long for me though. I'm in and out in about 5 minutes. Dennis says we will go home and have lunch (it's now 1:00). Then we go to the grocery store, and to pay a bill. About 4:00 we are all done with our running, and I lay on the bed for about an hour before starting supper. I don't do very well when I have to go away from home all day!

While we were home for lunch, our son made a copy of my state ID so I could go to the bank and Fax it to the car place. Waiting now to hear from the bank.

Weather is supposed to change around here. My flowers are all looking droopy and tired. Even the marigolds are losing their energy to bloom. Supposed to rain today.
That will bring down more leaves.

Dianne...what an ordeal you have been through with your car.Hope you hear from the bank soon.So sorry that you had to go through such an ordeal at the DMV.You are fortunate that you were able to sit and wait for your turn after you took a number. What really amazed me is that you were able to go home get the paperwork that you needed and return to the DMV and still able to use the same number.
The Virginia DMV is like in OK.You take a number and then sit and wait.Well...wish it was that easy here in West Virginia. You go and stand in line and wait and wait.I need to go this week and get my driver's license renewed.I am not looking forward to the standing and waiting.Hope I get there when it isn't too busy:)

Dianne - you certainly had your fill of paperwork haven't you?! Hopefully, the car's paperwork will now all be worked out as it should be.
