Just remembered that today is Thursday. I haven't written about my thankfulness in quite a while. I appreciate everything God has done for me, to me, and with me in all my nearly 62 years. What are the chances that a good looking sailor "boy" from Ohio would come into my place of employment in Jacksonville Beach, Florida?? That wasn't an accident. It wasn't a coincidence. It wasn't by chance. It was a God appointed time. Now 43 years later I can really see God's hand in our lives.
We moved to Ohio in 1968 and began our family in 1969. I made some wonderful friends there, and found the "perfect" church and made more friends. I also discovered Ken Hagin and his books. God was all over and all in Ken Hagin. I got such a desire to attend Bible School and learn all I could learn about God.
Oklahoma. Who ever heard of Oklahoma? All my growing up life I never heard of Oklahoma. I knew nothing about Oklahoma. Until I discovered Ken Hagin. That's where Ken Hagin and Rhema Bible School were located. So we came to Oklahoma on vacation to check it all out. Two weeks later we moved to Oklahoma! In June 1981 we were living in Oklahoma.....on faith. And God came through every time. Every time. EVERY TIME. And He has never failed us. "I will give thanks to your Name for Your unfailing love and faithfulness, because You answer me; You encourage me by giving me the strength I need". (Psalm 138)
I have made some friends in Oklahoma. I worked at Victory Christian School. And God opened the door for Dennis and I to attend Bible School....FREE! We have found a great church. Our kids attended great schools, and even had Christian teachers there. Now our youngest child plus 2 of our granddaughters are attending a great school, and 95% of the teachers there are Christians. I loved Ally's teacher this year. (all other years, too!) Mrs Poplin has been wonderfully supportive of Ally, and patient with the Asperger's part of Ally. I've already begun praying for the teacher Ally will have in the 4th grade.
God has been merciful, graceful, unfailing, loving, and just awesome to us.
"You made me; You created me. Now give me the sense to follow Your commands. May all who fear You find in me a cause for joy, for I have put my hope in Your Word"
