Oh for goodness sakes.......

How can I have missed so many days without blogging? I missed Thankful Thursday because I had a sinus infection and haven't felt well. The right side of my face was very swollen and I had to go to the urgent care clinic for some antibiotics to help the infection. I'm feeling much better now.

But I neglected to tell you that our Cheyenne turned 8 years old on December 19th. We had a delightful day with her (after school, that is) and shared cupcakes together, and allowed her to open one gift. She opened the earrings we gave her. A pack of three pretty butterflies. She liked them. But the celebration was today. She had a very pretty Littlest Pet Shoppe cake. yummmmy! Yep, I had some...I say some because, well, yes, I ate more than one piece of that cake. I'm thankful for insulin to help my sugar levels.......... Anyway, back to Cheyenne. She received lots of much desired goodies from her daddy (our son, D.J.) He got her the webkinz she wanted so badly....and more than one. And lots of other things that sure put a smile on Cheyenne's face. And what a beautiful face she has, too. And a smile that makes you want to come back for more. And lately I have noticed a lovely singing voice coming from her. She is turning into such a lovely young lady. Happy birthday, my sweet Cheyenne. The best is yet to come.

Since I missed the Thankful Thursday, maybe you will excuse my being thankful at this time. I don't remember Cheyenne's birthday last year. It came on the heels of the horrible ice storm, and the kidney failure that tried to take me out before my time. So I'm thankful to be strong this year, and able to enjoy my grandchild's 8th birthday. I'm thankful to be learning daily how much my Heavenly Father loves me and cares for me. He has been teaching me how to be friends with people I didn't really want to be friends with. Read Ephesians 4, my friends, and you, too, can learn how to love the unloveable. It is changing me and my thinking. I have read it more than once, and in more than one version of the Bible. Like the Isrealites of old, I have to be taken around the mountain and wander in the desert more than one time. But I am learning. I am teachable. And I'm thankful that my Heavenly Father sees something teachable in me. I have given Him my permission to teach me. So if you want to be refined in the Refiner's fire like silver, go read Ephesians 4 and read it more than one time. It's worth the trip.
