Our area was hit with a big ice storm that wiped out the power of the Tulsa metro area, which includes the town we live in. The power went out at 3:30 in the morning on Monday monday. We didn't think much of it because it's happened before. I sat on the end of the bed waiting for the power to stop "playing around" and come back on. I was so sleepy and didn't want to have to sit there long. We have an alarm system, and I needed to turn it off when the power came back on. I sat, and sat, and sat.................... Finally, I decided I'd just go back to bed, and get back up when the power stopped playing games. It didn't stop until 4:15 yesterday! Glad I didn't sit on the end of the bed that long!
Our house was pitch dark, and really cold. I've learned that I'm not very good in the cold dark. We couldn't cook, even though we have a gas stove, so Dennis, and DJ bought huge cans of vianna sausages, tuna, spam, pimento cheese spread, lots of bread and chips. I may never want to see these items again!
The girls were very good in the cold dark. They wore long pants, long sleeve shirts, and their winter coats...yes, that's for inside our home. We all went to bed at 8:15 every night. When it's cold and pitch black in your house, there's nothing to do!!!!
When the power came back on, we all cried, danced, and yelled! And I started the washer!! We were majorly running out of things to wear.
Tonight we are having a celebatory supper....spaghetti. Yay, and PRAISE THE LORD, the power is back on!! I'm a much nicer person in the warm light!!
