4th of July

We had a good day yesterday. We grilled steaks, I made potato salad, Dennis wanted corn on the cob, so I put some in the hot pot. The girls wanted hot dogs. Food wasn't a problem!

After we ate, we decided to watch a movie. We watched Are We There Yet? It was funny, and I enjoyed what little I saw. I fell asleep in my recliner! Dennis woke me up to tell me I should just go to bed and take a nap. So I did. But so did Dennis, and DJ went to his room for a nap. All this sleep left the 3 girls unattended! I woke up with them running and screaming down the hall! They had been playing in the living room, and one of the girls said they saw something scary. *sigh* I should have known better............

We went to Sapulpa to watch fireworks from the WalMart shopping center parking lot. A wonderful place for watching fireworks. We were able to take the girls to the potty in WalMart, and buy candy! The fireworks were really beautiful. At one point they spellec out O-K while the music played Oklahoma. Of course, I had to have that pointed out to me because I didn't see it, and I could hardly even hear the music. But the fireworks show itself was wonderful. I must be getting old though, because I could have stayed home, and not even cared!

Brianna is afraid of the noise of the fireworks, so she watched from the van. She started out on DJ's lap, but when he wasn't sympathtic to her fears, she got in the van and watched from there. She later said she liked it that way.

We had no rain! And there was a cooling breeze blowing, so there were no mosquitoes. So all in all, the day (and the night) was really good!
